Jason joined the Cedar Park Neighbors, a volunteer run, 501(c)3, non-partisan civic association in the spring of 2014 as a member of the Board of Directors. He has been active with the neighborhood community garden since 2013, a member of the local food co-op, Mariposa, and participates in monthly meetings with his block captain and neighbors.

The Cedar Park neighborhood is engaged with several issues and opportunities including, but not limited to, Baltimore Avenue commercial corridor development, development impact assessments, youth scholarships, a beautification committee, zoning and land-use issues, as well as community events and programs, like live jazz on Friday evenings in Cedar Park.

Jason’s experience with the Citizens Planning Institute gave him the education and confidence to run for a seat on the board of this local RCO, Cedar Park Neighbors, and is now registered for a 2 year board seat. He is looking forward to leveraging the education, professional connections, and resources from CPI in order to improve his neighborhood.

Jason is also looking forward to collaborating with community members, neighbors, and other stakeholders in order to become more informed of local zoning and development issues, participate in community meetings, facilitate difficult group discussions, and he is looking for opportunities to leverage grant funds to improve neighborhood safety and ecological restoration/conservation projects.

Update on Jason, spring 2022

Jason resides in the Bella Vista/Italian Market neighborhood of South Philadelphia now. He has sat on the board of the local RCO, Bella Vista Neighbors Association (BVNA) since 2019. In addition, he volunteers and co -chairs on both the beautification committee and the newly formed Sustainability/Climate committee. He enjoys being a block captain and collaborating in various efforts to keep the neighborhood clean.
